Evesham Town Council Unveils New 2025 Town Plan
Evesham Town Council is proud to announce the launch of the Evesham Town Plan Review 2025; a comprehensive reimagining of the original 2015 Town Plan in response to recent major changes such as the COVID-19 pandemic and the housing crisis, with an aim to enhance the town’s appeal to residents and visitors alike.
Building upon the vision outlined in the Evesham Town Plan 2015 and the responses of the Public Consultation in 2022, the Town Plan Review 2025 presents the priorities for Evesham over the coming years. The priorities reflect the changing needs of our community and the socio-economic developments that influence those needs. They are to create a town that:
- Has a strong identity: celebrating Evesham’s historical significance and traditions through festivals, markets, and other events.
- Offers the things that people want: enhancing the town’s attractions to offer a vibrant mix of retail, dining and cultural experiences suitable for all ages
- Promotes healthy communities: creating opportunities for active participation in Evesham’s facilities including the River Avon, community centres and open spaces.
- Improves its environmental impact, sustainability and appearance: encouraging the use of Evesham’s countryside setting to facilitate a greener, more sufficient town.
- Facilitates ease of access for all: investing in transportation and public spaces to ensure the town is amenable and welcoming to all.
- Engages with a cohesive community: operate of all levels of local government alongside collaboration with community organisations and the public to deliver the actions in the Town Plan.
Action to achieve the priorities lies with all levels of local government. The Town Plan also emphasises community engagement aimed at involving local residents in decision-making processes and fostering a sense of ownership over the town’s future.
