Flying the flag for England

The flag of St George will be flying from the town’s flagpole from 30th July to support the England team in the final of Women’s Euro 2022 on Sunday 31st.

The flag will remain in place for the following week to commemorate the Battle of Evesham on 4th August 1265 – the first time that the red and white cross of St George was used as a battle identifier by an official English army in England!

The Union Flag will return to the flagpole on Monday 8th August, after the Battle of Evesham Festival.
