Annual Council and Mayor-Making

The 2023 Annual Council and Mayor-Making ceremony will take place at 7pm on Monday 15th May.
The Annual Council marks the start of the council’s year and is always the first meeting of the new civic year. Mayor-Making is a historic ceremony at which the new Mayor is formally elected.
